CELISCA - Rostock

Centre for Innovation Competence

CELISCA´s organizational principle is based on the idea of establishing the ZIK as an interface between universtiy and industry and to provide it with a structure containing all necessary infrastructural features and competence as well as the capability of a start-up system. The center should be established as an interdisciplinary university organization with a multidisciplinary approach.

Two groups of junior scientists supported by two well and modern equipped high tech Core Facilities “Screening” and “Analytics” are performing the heart of CELISCA. The international research team at CELISCA closely cooperates with companies and research institutions around the world.

Objectives

As an international center of excellence, CELISCA offers an ideal roof for effective interdisciplinary research and development projects. Engineers and natural scientists are working closely together on finding innovative solutions for current and future problems.

At CELISCA, we concentrate, promote and combine results and insights from various disciplines in order to increase knowledge and to develop better procedures and products for the life sciences more quickly than ever. In doing so, we cover the entire range of life sciences. 

In developing high-end systems solutions, special services and forward-looking applications we orient ourselves both to the needs of science and to the needs of industry.

Core Topics

The main fields of research in celisca presently are already covered by the Rostock´s groups. An analysis of the state-of-the-art knowledge in sciences and investigations about the market potential in general and in the specialties of the broad band in Life Science Automation leads to a recommendation of the following field of work:
